Abstract

Education, especially for women, is crucial for societal development and gender equality. In the context of Islam, education is seen as a way to instill essential values for the betterment of society. This study focuses on understanding why female students in Bannu district, Pakistan, choose to study political science. It collected primary data from 131 female students enrolled in political science programs to explore factors such as educational background, personal interest, family influence, societal impact, inspiration from political figures, media influence, leadership aspirations, interest in governance, gender-related barriers, political curiosity, and challenges faced by female students. Therefore, using SPSS for data analysis, the study found that personal interest, family aspirations, societal impact, and inspiration from political figures significantly influence the choice of political science as a field of study. The study also highlighted the importance of addressing gender-related barriers by emphasizing the challenges encountered by female students.
