A Study on Organizational Justice and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour among Employees in Manufacturing Industries

Abstract

The present study's goal is to discover how organisational citizenship behaviour and organisational justice interact. One of the basic important needs of human beings is respect, fairness and trust which is more or less related to the concept of organizational justice. Past research found that a significant impact of organizational justice on organizational commitment, job satisfaction, employee engagement, organizational citizenship behaviour. The study is of a descriptive sort. The managerial employees working in manufacturing industries in Coimbatore is considered as the universe of the study. A sample of 150 managerial employees was selected randomly for the study. Data from the respondents were gathered using a standardized questionnaire. Organizational citizenship behaviour scale was profound by Vivek Sharma and Sangeeta Jain (2014) which consists of 22 statements in a five point scale with a score ranging from 1-5. The reliability and validity of the scales were measured and found to be 0.836 (organizational justice) and 913 (organizational citizenship behaviour). The scales were subjected to face validity and criterion validity. Utilizing statistical tools (Mean, SD, ANOVA, T-test. Correlation and Regression). According to the study's findings, organisational citizenship behaviour and justice within a company have a strong beneficial association. Organizational justice had a strong positive relationship with organizational citizenship behaviour. Higher the organizational justice higher is the organizational citizenship behaviour. The study tries to make organizational justice strategies and assess the Organizational Justice and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour of the respondents.
