Abstract

This article is a part of a dissertation on (Topic of the Dissertation). The objective of this research was to study the factors influencing the
San-Don-Ta Ritual of Khmer-Thai Locals in Ban Sawai, Tambon Sawai, Amphoe Mueang, Surin Province. This research was a
qualitative study using field data collection from the target groups of knowledgeable people, practitioners, and other associates. The
research tools included a questionnaire, participant observation, non-participant observation, structured interviews, unstructured
interviews, and group discussion. The analysis was conducted by using descriptive analytics based on the Theory of Formalism and
Cultural Diffusion. The results showed that there were both internal and external factors that impacted on the San-Don-Ta Ritual of
Khmer-Thai Locals in Ban Sawai. The internal factors included beliefs, adaptation, time, people, and technology. The external factors
included time, people, and technology. The analysis showed that there were both internal and external factors that impacted on the
San-Don-Ta Ritual of Khmer-Thai Locals in Ban Sawai
