Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept, implementation, and impact of Community Based Ecotourism (CBET) in the context of empowering local communities. Using a qualitative approach, this conceptual article will focus on several ecotourism destinations in various destinations of Indonesia that apply the CBET model. Collecting qualitative data through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, such as local community members, ecotourism managers, and local government representatives is advisable. In addition, document analysis and direct observation will be carried out to understand CBET implementation and its impact. Finally, this conceptual article presents variables, dimensions, and indicators that serve as open questions for guidance in conducting qualitative research.
