INVESTIGATING THE EFFECT OF ORI-GEOMETRY FOR IMPROVING THE VISUALIZATION ABILITY IN MATHEMATICS

Abstract

The study was aiming at observing the effect of ori-geometry on visualization ability in mathematics. The major objective of the study was;to investigate the effect of ori-geometry for improving the visualization ability in Mathematics. To achieve the above objective,  null hypotheses were tested. A sample of 40 students from class three was used in the study. An experimental equivalent group pretest post-test research design was used in the study. For data collection pretest, post-test and retention test were developed. To measure the performance of the students, statistical techniques such as mean, standard deviation and t-test were applied to analyze the collected data. The results of study indicated that there was significant effect of ori-geometry on the performance of students. The results revealed that the students of experimental group performed better than the students of control group. It is therefore recommended that this study is equally significant for all elementary level students, teachers, researchers and curriculum developers. For the improvement of visual spatial skills of students ori-geometry methods should be used while teaching mathematics of elementary level.
