The following paper critically assesses the concept of green manufacturing and how it can be used to attain sustainable operational practices by industries. It talks about the relevant practices which include efficient use of resources, reduction of waste, energy saving and the use of environmentally friendly technologies. The paper examines also the literature that has been done so as to indicate the benefits, challenges, and future of green manufacturing. The results imply that sustainable practices do not only preserve the environment but also increase the effectiveness of operations, decrease the expenses, and advance the reputation of the corporation.
