A Study on Perceived Organizational Support and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour among Employees in Manufacturing Industries

Purpose This research focuses on the connection between organisational citizenship behaviour and perceived organisational support. Theoretical Framework: The study's target population is the managerial staff members employed in Coimbatore's industrial businesses. Design/Methodology/Approach: For the study, 150 managerial personnel were randomly chosen as a sample. Data from the respondents were gathered using a standardised questionnaire. Findings: According to the study's findings, there is a significant and favorable association between employees' perceived organisational support and their organisational citizenship behaviour. By supporting and recognizing their employees' work and needs, organizations must instill a sense of accountability and a sense of community among their workforce. Significant organisational support predicts organisational citizenship behaviour. According to the analysis organisational support was found to significantly influence organisational citizenship behaviour Research, Practical & Social Implications: Organizational support is a significant predictor of organizational citizenship behaviour. Employees try to reciprocate the organization when their work and needs are recognized, appreciated and supported by the organizations. The organization should provide the rewards and resources fairly across the employees and it should be justified with a rationale and must be effectively communicated to the employees. Originality/ Value: This study focus on assessing the Organizational Support level and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour level of the respondents and to understand the correlation between Organizational Support and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour.
